Community is important to us at Grace...
A big part of who we are, is what we do. Through God's abundant love we live and work to serve others. At Grace we believe everything we do, and everything we have comes from God, so we want to make the most of it.
Grace Lutheran Church serves the community around us is by being a good neighbor in many ways. For example, together with community partners like South Central MN Food Recovery, we work to provide access to high-quality and nutritious food as we make and distribute meals, a ministry that has grown at Grace to provide more than 6,000 meals to the Mankato community in 2024 already.
We are also good neighbors by using our building as a ministry to others. Each week we have several groups who are not affiliated with the church using our building free of charge. From singing groups to AA meetings and more, we hope that by being a good neighbor, our whole community is made a better place.
We also believe in being good stewards of our financial resources and our gift of time. As a congregation we make giving a priority. Since it's creation, our Gifts and Memorials fund has given away more than $3 million to support other organizations in Mankato and around the world. In addition to financial support, we host service project nights to benefit local organizations and have a meal each Wednesday night during the school year that is open to everyone.
Some of those groups we have supported financially, through service projects, or through the use of our building include:
